Sea-Monkeys
On TV
Honey
I Shrunk the Kids, the television series:
SYNOPSIS: An upcoming Birthday bash at "Marv Fishland's Fun Park"
pits two teenage girls against one another in battle for popularity.
Using an un-tested "swim fish cream" gives them the ability to
swim like a fish. That is, until the fish DNA takes over and turns
them into mermaids. Realizing a mermaid attraction could save
his park from going belly up, Marv Fishland kidnaps the mermaid
teens to put on exhibit. The inventor father develops an antidote
to reverse the girls condition. He and his wife sneak into the
theme park dressed as costumed Sea-Monkey characters.
WARDROBE:
The Sea-Monkey outfits consist of blue body suits complete with
tails, scales, and webbed flippers. The head pieces have three
spring-like antennas, each topped with a bright green ball.
QUOTES: "It's
Sandy the Sea-Monkey! Do the dance, do the dance!" -- park visitor
"Can't a monkey get a break?" -- dad/inventor "Easy buddy. No
need for monkey business." -- dad/inventor "My Dad would never
be caught dead chasing me around in a monkey suit." -- Veronica,
teen mermaid
Spin City:
from the 1999 Season
Michael J. Fox's character is contemplating adopting a baby. But
as one of his co-workers amusingly points out (in game show host
fashion), "What do these things have in common? A cat, a plant,
a parrot and Sea-Monkeys." Michael J. Fox simulates "buzzing in"
with the correct answer, "Things that have died in my apartment."
The Simpsons:
The Simpsons swim (in Sea-Monkey guise) to sit on their clam shell
couch and gaze at a treasure chest filled with diamonds during
the opening sequence of two of their episodes.
Production code: 3F08, Original air-date: November 26, 1995.

Episode #7, "Banjo", King of the Sea-Monkeys.
Space Ghost gets a Sea-Monkeys kit in the mail and proceeds to
create instant life. He names his new born Sea-Monkey pet, "Banjo".
Banjo has an unexpected growth spurt and reeks havoc on Space
Ghost's talk show set. Space Ghost eventually blows Banjo to pieces
with his ray gun, stating, "Why do we always hurt the ones we
love? Why Banjo? Why?! Banjo! Banjo! Banjooooo!"
Rugrats:
"Sea Monkeys are the perfect pet. You don't have to walk them,
you barely even have to feed them and they don't leave any nasty
surprises in your slippers." -- Chuckie's dad, Chaz
Sabrina
the Teenage Witch:
"Do you think Sea-Monkeys would make good pets?" -- Black Cat
"Only if you like low maintenance." -- Sabrina

This one goes back several years. I actually saw this episode

the entire show, cradling a bowl of water and muttering comedic
comments about his failing Sea-Monkeys. No other information currently
available.
