It's true - people do collect the strangest things. Crown Center celebrates this collecting fever with it's 1998 summer exhibit, "The Things People Collect". The three month exhibit showcases over 100 different collectible subject matters including the almighty Sea-Monkeys. Compiled from the Sea-Monkey Central Archives, the Sea-Monkey display case houses over 100 Sea-Monkey products from the past four decades. Included are comic book ads, tanks, ingredient packets, boxed and blister-card kits - even an aquarium filled with actual LIVING Sea-Monkeys, a.k.a. Artemia NYOS. Other collectible items represented in the exhibit include; Tom and Jerry, soakie bottles, chalk carnival statues and cartoon character watches. Susan Winslow was faced with the daunting task of organizing and installing the 1,000 plus items included in "The Things People Collect" exhibit in Kansas City's Weston Crown Center.
